The first species I called the Freaky Floppers. They were relatively small (none larger than a roast turkey) and couldn't hurt you physically; all they could do was flop against you with their cold, clammy, rubbery, spastic little bodies.

But they could torment you emotionally, simply by flaunting their freaky appearance, and by babbling incessantly with their demented, idiotic, inhuman voices. They were a warmup for the more terrifying species of monster....
